Seán McSweeney

Born in Dublin, Seán McSweeney is a landscape painter. He lives and works in Ballyconnell in North Sligo. He began exhibiting regularly in the 1960s, in the Irish Exhibition of Living Art and the Oireachtas. He had his first solo exhibition at the Dawson Gallery in 1965. His work has been included in many major group exhibitions over the years. In 1996 he had a two-person exhibition in the RHA Gallagher Gallery with the sculptor Conor Fallon. In 2007 the Model Arts & Niland Gallery organised a retrospective exhibition of his work which travelled to the Triskel Arts Centre, Cork and the Solstice Arts Centre, Navan. He is represented by the Taylor Galleries, Dublin and also shows regularly with the Fenderesky Gallery, Belfast, the Vangard Gallery, Cork and the John Martin Gallery, London. He has recently made three carborundum prints with Stoney Road Press.
