Nigel Rolfe
Born on the Isle of Wight, Nigel Rolfe lives and works in Dublin. He works with many media - video, photography and sound, and for the past thirty years he has made performances throughout western Europe, the former Eastern Block, North America and Japan. Retrospectives of his work have been held at the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
In 2007 he has made performances at BodilyFunctions07, Granary Theatre, Cork, and at the International Festival in the Context of Art, in Warsaw, Poland. In 2006 he took part in the European Performance Art Festival in Warsaw, and a solo exhibition of photoworks, video and a performance was shown at the West Cork Arts Centre, Skibbereen. He is Senior Course Tutor in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art in London and senior visiting critic at the Royal Academy Schools, London, and the University of Pennsylvania.
