T.P. Flanagan

Fermanagh-born Flanagan, known to his friends as Terry, studied art under a local teacher before enrolling at the Belfast College of Art. He in turn taught while painting, and became a regular exhibitor at the Royal Ulster Academy, of which he later became President, and the RHA, of which he was also elected an academician. Shortly before his death, he was awarded a doctorate of fine art by the University of Ulster.
