DescriptionA friend of the artist, Lastrucci served as director of a society for the encouragement of young people, the Gioventu nella Compagnia di S. Benedetto Bianco in Florence. According to his biographer, Lastrucci was a man of considerable self-discipline and virtue who dedicated his life to the service of others, especially the spiritual welfare of the young. This finely executed red chalk drawing focuses on the features, capturing an overall sense of the sitter's assured character.
