DescriptionAfter moving to Singapore, Irish architect Denis Santry secured several lucrative commissions
for An Túr Gloine. This large lunette was
commissioned by Chinese millionaire Mr Eu
Tong Sen for his son’s new home, Rose Lands.
A companion piece entitled The Spirit of the
Morning was designed by Hubert McGoldrick.
Mr Sen had previously ordered a number
of panels from An Túr Gloine for his own
neighbouring residence, Eu Villa. The mansions
were subsequently demolished and the panels
are now held in the collection of the Penang
Colonial Museum, Malaysia.
