DescriptionO’Malley made a number of abstract panel paintings in a similar style in varying colour palettes throughout his career. In this example, April Panel (1994), materials including fibres and tissue paper are layered on the rough side of a press board, over which paint is applied. April Panel is an example of O’Malley’s purely abstract work. It dates to the period later in his career after he had returned to Ireland.
