DescriptionThis painting featured in Teskey's solo show, 'One River, One Creek', at the Oliver Sears Gallery in 2018. The exhibition comprised views of and around the River Dodder in Dublin, and paintings Teskey executed during a residency at Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania in autumn 2017. The constituent works, though of medium to large size, are more intimate than the coastal subjects with which Teskey is more commonly associated. The Dodder runs at the back of Teskey's studio in south Dublin and has fascinated the artist for many years. The painting represents, collectively, therefore, a celebration of the natural world on the artist's doorstep.
