DescriptionElizabeth (1734-1770), one of the Gunning sisters, the famous ‘beauties’ of the age. She later became Duchess of Hamilton and Brandon, wife of the 6th Duke, Later Duchess of Argyll then Baroness Hamilton. After the mezzotint by James McArdell after Cotes. This is a first state of the print.
