DescriptionHone learnt the craft from Wilhelmina Geddes in London and joined An Túr Gloine in 1933.
There she forged her own authentic vision with
audaciously modern designs that embrace the
abstract potential of stained glass. The rhythmic,
rotating planes of The Entombment point to Hone’s
early career as a cubist painter, while the triptych
composition recalls her very first stained glass
commission, The Annunciation (1933-34) for St
Nahi’s Church, Dundrum.
