DescriptionPortrait of Dublin born Richard Mayne KCB, who graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a BA in 1818. A barrister, he became head of the London Metropolitan Police in 1829. He remained in the post until his death in 1868, the longest-serving Commissioner in the force's history.
