DescriptionGlannon was teaching in New York’s Lower East Side when he painted this small monochrome picture. It is likely that the colouring, tone, and composition of Glannon’s atmospheric modern-life scene may have been informed by his interest in Alfred Stieglitz’s pictorial photography.
