DescriptionHendriks was a member of the Amsterdam Drawing Academy from 1765. He later ran a small wallpaper factory in the city. He moved to Haarlem in 1776 where he painted still-life and made copies for collectors of works by seventeenth century masters. His drawings and paintings are marked by a realism that at times verges towards caricature.
