DescriptionThis is one of eight plates after Rubens's designs for his series of tapestries depicting the life of Achilles Baron engraved the prints after a set of oil sketches made by Rubens in 1630, now in the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam. This print shows the death of Achilles inside a temple. Paris has just shot an arrow into Achilles foot. Achilles falls to his knees and is being helped by Ulysses.InscriptionLettered under image with production details and title in Latin and English, followed by six lines of Latin and English verses in two columns: P.P.
