DescriptionThis is one of eight plates after Rubens's designs for his series of tapestries depicting the life of Achilles Baron engraved the prints after a set of oil sketches made by Rubens in 1630, now in the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam. In this print, the wrath of Achilles, Agamemnon seated on a throne at centre and looks at Athena who stands behind Achilles at left and pulls his hair. Achilles looks back at her in surprise as he makes ready to draw his sword.
