DescriptionThis is one of eight plates after Rubens's designs for his series of tapestries depicting the life of Achilles Baron engraved the prints after a set of oil sketches made by Rubens in 1630, now in the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam. In this print Achilles is depicted being discovered among the daughters of Lycomedes who are gathered around a basket with jewels and armour Ulysses stands on the left, Achilles in the centre, disguised in female clothing.
