DescriptionDuring the 1950s the Swiss artist Giacometti made numerous drawings of figures in interiors, with surfaces built up through a series of densely worked lines. As well as the central figure in this composition one can decipher a book, a bowl and perhaps a sculpture of a standing figure on the table. The setting is probably the artist’s studio, often the subject of his expressive drawings.
