DescriptionEdmond Delrenne, a Belgian refugee of the First World War, had been offered support in Ireland by the artist Dermod O’Brien. He produced several oil paintings of the ruins around Sackville Street. He is understood to have been taking cover in a doorway during the Rising when a man beside him was killed by a stray bullet.
