DescriptionMcGoldrick began his career at Ireland’s largest
stained glass firm, Earley & Co. During his
apprenticeship at Earley’s, he continued to attend
A.E. Child’s stained glass lessons at the Dublin
Metropolitan School of Art. He was invited to
join An Túr Gloine in 1920, during a time when
the studio was undertaking a large number of
war memorial commissions. Like Michael Healy,
McGoldrick revelled in rich, decorative detail. At
An Túr Gloine, he refined the elaborate style and
vivid colours of Earley & Co. to arrive at his own
elegantly modern aesthetic.
