DescriptionThis portfolio forms part of Michael Farrell's long-running series of prints, drawings and paintings that comment on postcolonial Ireland. The eight colour etchings are accompanied by eight pages of letterpress text by the philosopher and art critic Cyril Barrett (1925-2003). The portfolio was printed in 1982 at the Atelier Moret in Paris for the Swedish gallery Origrafica Konsthandel Malmö, with the aid of the National College of Art, Dublin. Over some forty years, Origrafica Konsthandel published limited edition portfolios of the work of international artists. Some of Farrell’s prints in this portfolio refer to political events in Northern Ireland while others are more self-reflective and biographical in nature.InscriptionLower left: 7/80
