DescriptionThe etching entitled Mytton Hall, was made in September 1859. It depicts the entrance to Mytton Manor Hotel in Lancashire. Haden stayed in the distinctive Tudor hotel up to three times a year between 1855 and 1895 when on fishing trips to the nearby Ribble river. This a richly printed impression of state 9 of 15. In it, Haden exploits the velvety burr characteristic of drypoint etching, creating an evocative image.
