DescriptionThis is a superb example of Myra Hughes’s work as an etcher. It depicts an old inn in the Holborn area of London, known as Harpur's Arms or Thavies Inn. It was most likely made while Hughes was a student at the Royal College of Art (RCA) as the inscription "per Con Pott" indicates that Constance Pott, a close associate of Frank Short and teacher at the RCA was involved in its creation. The print was included in the exhibition catalogue 'Etchings by the late Miss Myra K. Hughes A.R.E.', Walker Galleries, 17 February to 15 March 1919, no.38.Inscriptionlower right: per Con Pott
