DescriptionThis is the moment before a storm breaks over Caernarfon Bay, captured very effectively in tones of grey and white, as immense clouds hang over the sea. William's seascapes are typically near monochrome, with suggestions of human presence, as in the ghost of a sail here, without being overly specific. The use of palette knife very effectively captures the brooding sense of the oncoming clouds and rain, the sea drained of colour as the light changes.
