DescriptionFrom the 1960s, Scott combined squares of gold leaf, white tempera and acrylic paint on raw linen canvas to create geometric images in infinite permutations. Following his journeys to Asia during the 1980s, Scott’s later Gold paintings became more explicitly concerned with an Eastern aesthetic. His ‘Meditation’ series of paintings encourages the viewer to contemplate the link between the physical and metaphysical world. The Meditations series of prints created at Stoney Road Press in collaboration with the artist are based on his earlier painting series.
