DescriptionGlasgow-born, but of Irish parentage, William Crozier adopted Irish citizenship in 1973. In 1983, he bought a house in Kilcoe. This powerful tonal image with a high horizon line is part of a series of works in various media that abstracts the West Cork landscape. Here, he distils the cultivated setting into an intriguing monochromatic composition. He captures the impression of ploughed drills in a steep field through distinctive mark-making and textured applications of gouache.
