DescriptionAs a young man William Allen (Tate) Adams admired the wood engravings of Robert Gibbings. In 1952 he emigrated to Melbourne, but returned to Ireland briefly in 1957 to work with Liam Miller at Dolmen Press, Dublin on 'The Soul Cages', an Irish folk tale. He established Crossley Print Workshop in 1973 and Lyre Bird Press in 1977, the first Australian press to produce high quality artists’ books.
