DescriptionThis composition depicts a small funeral procession moving towards a windswept, lonely graveyard on the coast. Six men carry the coffin which is followed by five mourners. The artist Charles A. Mills worked as an illustrator for a number of Irish newspapers including the Irish Independent and in the early 1900s provided illustrations for the British titles The Graphic and Fun.
