DescriptionIn 1893 O’Conor worked with the French printmaker Armand Seguin (1869-1903), on a series of prints in and around Le Pouldu, an isolated coastal community to the east of Pont-Aven. His prints, displaying a wealth of tonal variation and strong directional lines, perfectly express the wild forces of nature found in the Brittany landscape. Due to the experimental nature of O’Conor’s dramatic etchings, only a small number of proofs were pulled from the original plates, making prints such as this exceptionally rare.
