DescriptionPortrait of John Foster, last Speaker of the Irish House of Commons, after an oil (1791) by Gilbert Stuart, now in the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City. The inscription notes that the print is dedicated to ‘the glorious 111 Irish Commoners ‘, who on the 6th of January, ‘saved the legislative independence of their country.’
