DescriptionVincent Brooks, the foremost colour lithographer of the day, was known for his chromolithographs of old master prints, made for the Arundel Society. 'Spy' was not directly involved in the complicated printing process which involved the use of multiple lithographic stones and careful registration. He simply supplied the lithographer with a colour drawing, accompanied sometimes by a careful tracing, to ensure a good outline.
