DescriptionThis work is sketched from the same viewpoint as the more finished Lake Lucerne watercolour. This rapid sketch focuses on the daily activities of the local people, recorded in slight pencil marks. The swiftest wash of the palest tint is enough to convey the evanescent atmosphere bathing the scene.
