DescriptionThis life-like lithograph, made after a daguerreotype taken in Dublin by the French photographer Doussin-Dubreuil around 1840 depicts a jowly, elderly man. It is a very different likeness compared with the flattering, romantic image of O'Connell which most popular prints promote.
