DescriptionDuring the 1920s Paul Henry was working in Dublin and had a studio at 13a Merrion Row.
In this work we find an emphasis on solid masses, with broad areas of cloud and sky,
a feature characteristic of his West of Ireland landscapes. He has exploited the grain of
the paper to good effect and, by rubbing the charcoal heavily for dark tones and lightly
for pale tones, has created a tightly finished urban landscape.
