DescriptionHone joined An Túr Gloine in 1933, after
learning the craft from Wilhelmina Geddes in
London. Influenced by her early training in cubist
and abstract art, Hone favoured harmonious
colour, expressive brushwork and clarity of form,
over the intricate detailing of the Arts and Crafts
aesthetic. My Four Green Fields was a preparatory
sketch design for a major commission to represent
Ireland at the 1939 New York World’s Fair.
The finished stained glass panel is installed in
Irish Government Buildings.
