DescriptionDrawing part of a collection of courtroom sketches by Sidney Prior Hall for The Graphic of the Parnell Commission (1888-90) where allegations published by The Times, based on letters forged by Richard Pigott, were succesfully refuted by Charles Stewart Parnell M.P., along with other Parlaimentary sketches (1885-1900).

lower left, in graphite: Jeremiah Buckley (nearly stone deaf). Examined by Mr Graham. Paid his rent. Moonlighters cut the lobe of his right ear off. Q. What sort of scissors were they? A. I don't think they were good ones.
