DescriptionFrançois Halma was a publisher and bookseller in the important publishing centre of Leeuwarden in the Northern Netherlands. This romanticised landscape depicts Mount Tabor in Galilee, the site of Christ’s transfiguration. It was included in a book used as an aid in the study of biblical history, which featured maps and views of the Holy Land.
