DescriptionThis drawing was made while Turner was staying at the home of the architect John Nash on the Isle of Wight. The flourishing signature connects it to a group of drawings of shipping subjects made by Turner during his stay at East Cowes Castle. The expressivness of the drawing allow us to imagine the wind blowing and the anxiety of the people waiting on the pier.Exhibition HistoryTurner in January | Ireland's Vaughan Bequest, National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh, 01 January 2025 - 31 January 2025
