DescriptionThis is one of eight plates after Rubens's designs for his series of tapestries depicting the life of Achilles Baron engraved the prints after a set of oil sketches made by Rubens in 1630, now in the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam. This print shows the death of Achilles inside a temple. Paris has just shot an arrow into Achilles foot. Achilles falls to his knees and is being helped by Ulysses.
