DescriptionThis plate was etched when Shaw was a household name, famous as a playwright and commentator. He won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1925. In the late 1920s he published The Intelligent Woman’s Guide to Socialism and Capitalism; visited Russia reporting that he had ‘seen the future’; and had his play The Applecart put on in Warsaw and at the Malvern Festival.
