Label TextThrough his contact from 1941 onwards with the White Stag group, Scott was exposed to technical, thematic and theoretical concerns prevalent among exponents and champions of the avant-garde in Ireland, Britain and beyond. This linear composition is a good example of the artist’s exploratory work of the 1940s. By the time he became a full-time artist in 1960, he was also recognised as a gifted architect and graphic designer, having worked in the architectural practice of Michael Scott (no relation) and the Signa Design Consultancy (established in 1953 by Michael Scott and Louis le Brocquy).
